This template works as a construction quote template for builders, and as a job quote template for any trade: roofing, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, bathroom renovation, landscaping, painting or cleaning. Add a line for each part of the job, and the totals, VAT and deposit work themselves out.
The template opens with a sample building quote already filled in, so you can see how a clear quote reads before you start:

A Word or Excel quote template means retyping totals and fixing layouts every time. This one builds the quotation for you and saves it as a PDF, which looks the same on every phone and cannot be edited by mistake once it is sent.
Your business name and contact details, the customer’s name and address, a clear description of the work and each part priced separately. Add the total, VAT if you are registered, the deposit, payment terms and how long the price is valid. Say what is not included too.
A quote is a fixed price for the work described. An estimate is your best guess and can change. Once a customer accepts a quote, you are generally expected to stick to that price unless the job itself changes.
Only if you are VAT registered. If you are, show VAT at 20% as its own line so the customer sees the full price. If you are not registered, do not add VAT or show it on the quote.
30 days is common for most trade jobs. Use a shorter period when material prices are moving fast. Put the expiry date on the quote so you can reprice if the customer comes back months later.
